Premiership player Rod Jameson has been re-elected to Adelaide’s Board of Directors following an independently-run Member election.

Chairman Rob Chapman made the announcement at Thursday night’s Annual Members Meeting following an 18-day voting period.

Jameson played 153 AFL games for the Club and was a member of 1997 premiership side and over the years has fulfilled a number of roles, sitting on the Finance and Hall of Fame committees and Chairing the Past Players and Officials.

He joined the Board in 2015 and will now serve a further two-year term after being challenged by Adelaide lawyer Kym Ryder for the vacant seat.

Jameson thanked the Members for their faith and support, and described his re-appointment as a privilege.

“The football club has been a huge part of my life, commencing as an inaugural player and 27 years later I am serving as a Director,” Jameson said.

“As a collective, we have taken giant strides in the past few years and there are exciting times ahead and I look forward to continuing to making a contribution.”

Ryder also praised the integrity of the election process.

“Ultimately, we are all passionate supporters and want to do everything in our power to make the Club the best it possibly can be,” Ryder said.

“I look forward to helping out where I can and engaging with Chairman Rob Chapman and CEO Andrew Fagan at appropriate times in the future.”

Adelaide’s Board Directors are Rob Chapman (Chairman), Jim Hazel (Deputy Chairman), Jim McDowell, Kate Ellis, Linda Fellows, Mark Ricciuto, Richard Fennell and Rod Jameson.

Also on Thursday night, the Club announced a multi-million dollar cash operating profit for 2017.
