Showdown Medallist Matt Crouch claimed top AFL Fantasy honours in Adelaide’s 15-point win over Port Adelaide on Saturday night.

Crouch was the leading Fantasy performer on the ground in Showdown XLI, steering his side to victory with a massive 118 points.

The 21-year-old ball-magnet had a game-high 33 possessions and capped off his performance with six marks, six tackles and five clearances.

With the Fantasy Grand Final this weekend, Crouch appears to be hitting top gear at just the right time for coaches that have shown faith in the emerging on-baller.

Crouch has now scored four Fantasy tons in his past five outings, making him one of the form mids in the competition, averaging 108.4 points-per-game over that period.

Whilst no other Crow managed to notch a Fantasy ton on the weekend, Eddie Betts led a charge of four who had a strong games to score in the 90s.

Playing in his 250th AFL game, Betts was at his scintillating best, kicking a game-high five goals including a memorable left-foot snap from deep in the forward pocket.

Betts had 18 touches to go with his five-goal haul, as well as three marks and two tackles for a total of 99 points, which saw him fall just one point short of consecutive Fantasy tons for the first time this season.

By the numbers: Round 22 v Port Adelaide

Midfield duo Rory Sloane and Jarryd Lyons shared third spot for Adelaide, with both players scoring 96 points.

Sloane was solid yet again with 19 possessions, four marks and a game-high 10 tackles, but has unfortunately attracted the attention of the Match Review Panel after a high hit on Port’s Brad Ebert.

Coming off the back of consecutive Fantasy tons, Jarryd Lyons impressed once again for the Crows with 21 disposals, six marks, six tackles and three clearances.

Lyons appears to be peaking at just the right time, and now averages just over 100 points through his last three games.

Also worthy of a mention for the Crows is Tom Lynch who had 16 possessions, six marks, four tackles and two goals for a total of 93 Fantasy points.

It could have been a much bigger Fantasy night for the Round Two Showdown Medallist, but inaccurate kicking cost the 25-year-old, who finished with 2.3 to his name.
